OED Researchers Advisory Group
The OED aims to work with academic researchers to explore the dictionary’s capabilities, investigating new, flexible ways for scholars to access and manipulate this enormous dataset and gain richer insight into the complexities and impact of the English language across diverse research disciplines.
Collaboration is at the centre of our mission with contributions from the academic community fuelling research and development at the OED as we build our offering to better support the evolving needs of scholars in today’s ever-changing research landscape.
Researchers involved with the OED Researchers Advisory Group have the opportunity to share their research priorities directly with our development team, trial new OED functionalities and give constructive feedback on their use, and test newly developed tools for accessing OED data in their own research fields before they are made available to the wider research community.
How can you be part of the OED Researchers Advisory Group?
All academic researchers interested in the development of language research methodologies and data science technologies are warmly invited to get involved with the Researchers Advisory Group.
Register your interest via our request to join form and someone from the OED team will be in touch with more information and next steps.
We will only use your personal information to contact you to learn more about your research project, to answer any queries you might have, to take action in response to feedback, to let you know about this group’s activities, and to invite you to take part in particular activities (e.g.: to complete a survey, or showcase your project). You can always decline any of these invitations, and participate in our OED Researchers Advisory Group as much or as little as you wish.
