Indian languages programme

Oxford Languages has embarked upon an exciting, new programme to accelerate the growth of our Indian language content – the Indian Languages Programme.

Through investment in people and expertise, we aim to create lexical data in major Indian languages. This content will provide resources for third parties, such as government bodies, developers, and educational organizations, to make products and services available in people’s native languages.

We have already made significant headway with creating and developing lexical content for Hindi and Tamil, building and training teams of editors and language specialists and creating original content that reflects how these languages are actually used today. Our current focus is on building our resources in Telugu. We are now looking for the people who will help us with other Indian languages in the pipeline – people who are eager to learn how to create bilingual lexical content that enables rich, diverse language communication in the digital age.

Could this be you?

We are looking for editors and linguists with a deep knowledge and love of at least one Indian language and high fluency in English to join the programme. The content you create will directly contribute to Oxford’s goal of unlocking the power of language for learning and for life.
